Cut a section out of an MP3 and keep just the part you want — a chorus, a ringtone, a clip for a video. Unlike a plain trim this can fade the cut in and out, which matters more than it sounds: a cut made at an arbitrary point almost never lands on a zero crossing, so the clip starts and ends with an audible click. Even a fifth of a second of fade removes it. Everything runs in your browser through a real copy of ffmpeg.

Why does my cut clip click at the start?+
Because the cut landed mid-waveform. Audio is a wave, and starting playback anywhere other than a zero crossing produces a step change the speaker reproduces as a click. A fade of 0.1–0.3 seconds removes it entirely, which is why the option is here rather than in the general audio trimmer.
How is this different from the audio trimmer?+
The audio trimmer takes any format — WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG — and always exports MP3. This one is MP3 in and MP3 out, and adds the fade and bitrate controls that clip-making actually needs. Use the trimmer to cut something that is not already an MP3.
Does cutting an MP3 lose quality?+
A little. MP3 is lossy, and cutting requires decoding and re-encoding, so the result is a second-generation copy. At the default quality the difference is inaudible. If you plan to cut the same file repeatedly, work from a lossless original instead.
How do I make a ringtone?+
Pick a section around 20–30 seconds, add a half-second fade at both ends, and export. iPhones need the file converted to .m4r afterwards; Android accepts the MP3 directly — copy it into the Ringtones folder.
Is my file uploaded?+
No. The first cut downloads a one-time engine, and after that everything happens inside this tab. The audio itself is never sent anywhere.
