Privacy Policy

Your files are never uploaded

When you convert a file, it is read and processed locally by JavaScript running in your browser. The file itself is never sent to our servers, a third party, or anywhere else over the network. Nothing about the contents of your files is transmitted, stored, or logged by us.

The exception: the network checkers

A small group of tools underNetwork & Servercannot work the way everything else here does, and it would be dishonest to let the sentence above cover them. The DNS lookup, SSL certificate checker, SPF, DMARC and MX checkers, HTTP header inspector, WHOIS lookup and currency converter all need something a web page is not allowed to do: query DNS, read a certificate off a TLS connection, or see another site's response headers.

On those pages — and only those, each of which says so on itself before you type anything — the domain name, hostname or URL you enter is sent to our server, which performs the public lookup and returns the answer. Specifically:

• the name you typed goes to the relevant public service — Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 resolver for DNS, the domain's own registry for WHOIS, the host itself for a certificate or headers, the public Certificate Transparency logs (crt.sh) when a host will not accept a direct connection, and the European Central Bank's published rates (via Frankfurter) for currency;
• the public answer is cached for between one minute and thirty minutes so a repeated check is not a repeated query;
• a short-lived counter limits how many lookups one address may make per minute. It stores a truncated hash of your IP address, not the address, and it expires within the minute;
• no file of yours is read, uploaded or stored at any point, and none of this is tied to an account, because there are no accounts.

The time zone meeting planner sits in the same category and is deliberatelynot in this list: your browser already carries the time-zone database, so it computes locally and sends nothing.

No accounts, no file storage

OkConverter does not require an account to use. We do not store your files, conversion results, or a history of what you converted. Once you close or reload the page, anything you converted is gone from memory.

Cookies & on-device storage

The core converter tools do not require cookies to work. We do use a few small, non-tracking values in your browser's own storage, none of which is a cookie and none of which is sent to any server:

• your dark/light theme preference;
• your cookie choice from the banner below;
• the slugs of the last few tools you used, so the home page can show a "Recently used" shortcut. This is a list of page names likepng-to-jpg— never anything about the files themselves.

OkConverter also installs a service worker, which saves copies of pages, stylesheets and scripts in your browser's cache so the site loads faster and keeps working without a connection.No file you convert and no conversion result is ever written to that cache— conversions happen in memory and the output is discarded when you close the page. You can remove all of it at any time by clearing site data for okconverter.com in your browser settings.

Advertising & ad cookies

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. If you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit, Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies on your device to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites. If you reject or ignore the banner, no ad cookies are set and no ad request is made.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand overall traffic — for example, how many people visit a page, which pages they arrive on, and roughly where in the world they are.

Google Analytics runs in Google Consent Mode. If you have not accepted the cookie banner — including if you simply ignore it — it operates in a restricted, cookieless mode: no cookie is stored, no identifier is created, and nothing links one visit of yours to another. In that mode it reports only aggregate signals such as the page viewed, the site you arrived from, and an approximate country derived from your IP address. If you accept, Google Analytics additionally stores a cookie so that repeat visits can be recognised as the same browser.

This means a request is sent to Google on page load even before you make a choice. It carries no cookie and no identifier, but it does include your IP address, which Google uses to derive an approximate location and does not retain in Analytics reports.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure overall traffic. Unlike Google Analytics it runs for every visitor without asking, because there is nothing to ask about: it sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and creates no identifier that could link one visit to another. It reports only aggregate counts such as page views, referring sites, approximate country, and browser type.

We never send the contents of your files to either service — they record page visits, not what you converted. Your files are converted entirely in your browser and are never uploaded, so there is nothing about them for analytics to collect. You can change your Google Analytics choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

Hosting

This site is served as static files by Cloudflare. As with any website, standard, transient server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) may be processed by the hosting provider to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. These logs are not used by us to identify you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
