How do I resize without distorting?+
Keep the ratio between width and height fixed. Enter your original dimensions and the new width, and the calculator gives the exact height that preserves it — which is what stops faces and logos looking squashed.
What ratio should I use for video?+
16:9 for standard horizontal video and almost every display. 9:16 for vertical formats — Stories, Reels, Shorts. 1:1 for square social posts. 21:9 only for deliberately cinematic ultrawide.
Why is my ratio an odd pair of numbers?+
Because it does not reduce to a common standard. 1000×667 comes out as 1000:667, which is close to 3:2 but not exact — usually a sign the image has already been cropped by a pixel or two.
