Frequently asked questions
What order do the frames play in?+
The order they appear in the list, top to bottom. Most browsers add files alphabetically when you multi-select, so naming them frame-01, frame-02 and so on is the easiest way to control the sequence.
What if my images are different sizes?+
The first image sets the canvas size, and every later frame is scaled to fit inside it and centred, with any leftover space left transparent. A GIF cannot have frames of differing sizes, so something has to give — this keeps every frame fully visible rather than cropping it.
What delay should I use?+
200ms per frame (5 frames per second) reads well for slideshows. For smooth motion try 60–80ms. Below about 20ms most viewers ignore the value and play as fast as they can.
Which image formats can I use?+
PNG, JPG, WebP and AVIF, and you can mix them freely in one animation. Transparency from PNG and WebP frames is preserved as GIF on/off transparency.
How many images can I add?+
Up to 1000 frames, though the practical limit is your device’s memory and your patience — GIF files grow quickly. If the result is too large, lower the width or the palette size before cutting frames.
Are my images uploaded?+
No. Every frame is decoded and encoded in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
