Frequently asked questions
Is the count case-sensitive?+
No. "The" and "the" are counted as the same word, since that matches how most people think about word frequency.
What counts as a “word”?+
Sequences of letters, numbers, and internal apostrophes/hyphens (like "don't" or "well-known") are treated as single words; standalone punctuation is ignored.
Why use a minimum word length?+
Raising the minimum length filters out short, low-signal words like "a", "is" and "to" so the ranked list highlights more meaningful terms.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?+
No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
