Frequently asked questions

Does this count spaces?+

Both are shown: “Characters” includes spaces and punctuation, while “Characters (no spaces)” strips all whitespace so you can check against limits that exclude spaces.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?+

No. Counting runs entirely in your browser as you type — nothing is ever sent to a server.

Do emoji count as one character or more?+

Emoji and accented letters are counted by Unicode code point, so a single emoji counts as one character, matching how most character-limit fields behave.

What is this useful for?+

Common uses include checking meta description length for SEO, staying under social media character limits, and validating form-field constraints before you paste text into them.
