HEIC to PNG Converter

Runs in your browser — your files are never uploaded.

Turn an iPhone HEIC photo into a lossless PNG that opens everywhere. OkConverter decodes the HEIC file locally using a WebAssembly build of libheif — your photos are never uploaded to a server.

How to convert HEIC to PNG

  1. 1

Drop your HEIC/HEIF photo onto the box, or click to choose one.

  2. 2

OkConverter decodes it locally (this loads a one-time ~3 MB decoding engine) and re-encodes it as PNG.

  3. 3

Click “Download” to save the PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose PNG instead of JPG?+

PNG is lossless, so it preserves every pixel of the decoded image with no further compression — useful if you plan to edit the photo further. Choose JPG instead if you want a smaller file and don’t need pixel-perfect fidelity.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?+

No. Decoding runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your photos never leave your device.

Why does the first conversion take a moment?+

The browser downloads a one-time WebAssembly decoding engine (about 3 MB) the first time you use this tool. It’s cached afterward, so repeat conversions are fast.

Will the PNG be a large file?+

Likely larger than the source HEIC — HEIC’s compression is much more efficient than PNG’s. If file size matters more than lossless quality, use HEIC to JPG instead.
